(A) From and after April 1, 1983, each employee described in division (c) of this section who has continuous service for the City exceeding the years set forth herein, shall receive additional compensation over and above that provided In the basic pay plan in Section 244.251 as follows:
(1) Upon the completion of ten years of continuous service with the City: three hundred fifty dollars ($350.00) annually.
(2) Upon the completion of fifteen years of continuous service with the City: seven hundred dollars ($700.00) annually.
(3) Upon the completion of twenty years of continuous service with the City: one thousand fifty dollars ($1,050.00) annually.
(4) Upon the completion of twenty-five years of continuous service with the City: one thousand four hundred dollars ($1,400.00) annually.
(B) This section shall be implemented as follows:
(1) Employees presently receiving longevity payments shall have such amount modified to conform to the schedule in division (A) of this section, effective April 1, 1983.
(2) Employees who have not received longevity prior to April 1, 1983, but become eligible due to passing the appropriate anniversary date of employment, shall commence receiving longevity according to the schedule in division (A) of this section as of the date of eligibility.
(3) Employees shall have their longevity payments increased according to the schedule in division (A) of this section upon completing the appropriate length of service on their anniversary date.
(C) This section shall only apply to the following employees of the Police Department: Chief of Police, inspectors, lieutenants, sergeants, detectives, identification officers and patrolmen.
(D) Longevity pay as provided in this section shall be paid biweekly along with regular compensation.
