Each police officer with an accumulated service with the City of Lima, Ohio, of twenty-five years or more, upon his retirement from the Police Department, shall have the right to purchase his service revolver for the sum of one dollar ($1.00), payable to the City Auditor. The Chief of Police shall keep a record of the name and address of the retiring officer, together with the make, serial number and model number of the weapon purchased.
