(A) The following surcharges are hereby imposed:
(1) $0.50/lb that exceeds BOD of 230 mg/l.
(2) $0.50/lb that exceeds TSS of 230 mg/l.
(3) $0.60/lb that exceeds ammonia-nitrogen of 25 mg/l.
(4) $1.50/lb that exceeds phosphorous of 1 mg/l.
(B) A surcharge will be imposed for every day that the limits are violated for any pollutant listed hereinabove.
(C) The calculation of each surcharge amount will be as follows, using BOD as an example:
Facility flow in million gallons per day (0.025 x 8.34 lb/gallon x amount exceeding the limit of 230 (if BOD is 280 the mg/l that is to be surcharged is 50 mg/l) x $0.50/lb |
0.025 x 8.34 x 50 x $0.50 = $5.21 per day per violation |
