Any full-time police officer of full-time firefighter who meets the criteria to be considered a “full-time regular employee” under the Ligonier Personnel Policies, who may be hurt or injured on the job, and who would otherwise be qualified to receive worker’s compensation pay benefits under the laws of the State of Indiana, shall receive full pay and benefits during the period they would otherwise receive pay benefits under worker’s compensation in Indiana, for a period of up to, but not more than one year, from the city.
