(A) Office of Building and Zoning Administrator established. There is established the office of Building and Zoning Administrator who shall act pursuant to the powers and duties as set forth in Acts 1935, Ch. 196, as amended, of the State General Assembly.

(B) Appointment and removal. The Building and Zoning Administrator shall be appointed by the Mayor subject to the approval of the Common Council. The Building and Zoning Administrator shall serve at the pleasure of the Mayor, and shall be an at will employee with no fixed term of office.

(C) Term of office. The Mayor and Common Council of the city shall on the last meeting in December of each year, appoint a Building and Zoning Administrator to serve beginning at 12:00 p.m. on January 1, and ending 12:00 a.m. on December 31.
