§ 96.52 ABANDONED VEHICLE FUND.
   (A)   There is created an abandoned vehicle fund which shall be used to pay for the cost of removal and storage of abandoned vehicles not claimed by the person who owns or holds a lien on the vehicle. In addition, the proceeds from the sale of an abandoned vehicle or parts received by the city shall be placed in this account. The costs incurred by the city in administering this chapter shall be paid from the fund.
   (B)   The City Council shall, pursuant to I.C. 9-22-1-27, appropriate sufficient moneys to this fund to carry out the purposes of this chapter. Any money remaining in the fund at the end of the year remains in the fund and shall not revert to the general fund pursuant to the authority of I.C. 9-22-1-27.
