(A) The driver of a vehicle, which is in any manner involved in an accident resulting in injury to or death of any person or property damage to an apparent extent of $100 or more shall, within five days after the accident, forward a written report of the accident to the office of the Chief of Police or a copy of any report filed with the state police.
(B) The provisions of this section shall not be applicable when the accident has been investigated at the scene by the Chief of Police or deputy/officer while the driver was present there at.
