(A) Rents are to be paid at the office of the City Clerk-Treasurer within 20 days and unless the same are paid within that time, a deferred payment charge penalty of 10% will be added thereto.
(B) The City Clerk-Treasurer shall deliver to each party paying rent a receipt therefor. The Board however, if in its opinion deems best to protect the interests of the city, may cause the water employees to shut off the water from any parties not complying with the rules and regulations. The City Clerk-Treasurer is instructed to furnish the Board a list of all premises upon which the water tax remains unpaid 30 days after the commencement of the terms for which it is due; and the Board shall instruct the water employees at once to turn off the supply from the premises and should the owner thereof desire the same again turned on, an extra charge of $20 shall be made for the service. No partial payments shall be accepted unless permitted by the Water Board. All charges for the use of water shall be the responsibility of the real estate owner for which the water is furnished.
(C) All charges for the use of water shall be made to the owner of the real estate upon which water service is furnished. If the property is for rental purposes, then the renter shall submit a "Renter's Application for Water Services" form. The form may be obtained from the City Clerk-Treasurer's office, filled out by the renter and then returned back to the City Clerk-Treasurer's office.
(D) Disconnection of water service for nonpayment of a bill will be done in accordance with § 54.02(D).
(E) All persons digging on city, state or private property shall contact the Underground Plan Protection Services Inc., at 1-800-382-5544 at least 48 hours before digging. Anyone digging without proper notice will be liable for any and all damages and fines caused by the affected utilities.
