§ 72.01 UNATTENDED VEHICLES.
   (A)   It shall be unlawful for any person driving or in charge of a motor vehicle to permit it to stand unattended without first stopping the engine, locking the ignition or removing the key.
   (B)   (1)   If any vehicle is found within the town’s corporate limits so unattended, with the engine running, or with the ignition unlocked, or with the key therein, the Town Marshal shall first contact or make every reasonable effort to contact the owner or person in charge of the vehicle and notify him or her of the above violation.
      (2)   If the person cannot be found within a reasonable time or if found and he or she permits the violation to continue, then the Town Marshal shall have the right to have the vehicle impounded and he or she shall also have the further right to take any and all reasonable means to correct the violation.
      (3)   The town shall have the right to keep the vehicle impounded until all charges against the same are paid.
