2-2-1: DEFINITIONS:
   As used in this Chapter, the following word or words shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this Section:
 
DEALING IN SECONDHAND PROPERTY:
All general sales open to the public conducted for the purpose of selling, purchasing, trading, dealing or otherwise disposing of “secondhand property” as defined herein.
GARAGE SALE:
Shall mean and include all general sales open to the public and conducted by the owner or occupant of a residential premises for the purpose of selling, purchasing, trading, dealing or otherwise disposing of “personal property” as defined herein. As used herein, the phrase “garage sale” includes, but is not limited to, any and all such sales of personal property whether entitled “garage sale”, “lawn sale”, “yard sale”, “attic sale”, “room sale”, “backyard sale”, “moving sale”, “flea market”, “basement sale”, “rummage sale”, “estate sale” or any similar name.
PERSONAL PROPERTY:
Property which is owned, utilized and maintained by an individual or members of their residence and acquired in the normal course of living or in maintaining a residence. It does not include merchandise which was purchased for resale, bulk sales, the sale of multiple new items of the same description, and the sale of consigned merchandise, merchandise brought to the premises for resale or for reconditioning for resale (see definition of “secondhand property”).
SECONDHAND PROPERTY:
Any used or secondhand items or articles of personal property customarily owned, utilized and maintained in a family household however acquired, including any items or articles of property which were purchased for resale, acquired in a bulk sale, or which are consigned for sale.
