3-2-9: HOUSE NUMBERING:
   A.   Compliance: It is hereby made the duty of the owner, agent or person in possession of any buildings in unincorporated Leyden Township to number the building in the manner provided by this section.
   B.   Placement of Numbers; Size of Numbers:
      1.   Each building to which a house number has been assigned shall have the house number displayed upon the building.
      2.   The assigned house number shall be either affixed directly to the building or posted or displayed upon a sign affixed to the building or posted in a prominent position. The house number shall be displayed in such a manner so that the numbers contrast in color with the background and shall be observable and readable by those traveling in either direction on the adjoining public street or other thoroughfare providing access to the building. If the building has an unattached mailbox, the assigned house number shall be affixed on both sides of said mailbox.
      3.   All numbers shall be in standard Arabic Numbers. Not less than three (3) inches in height and shall be reflective for visibility during nighttime hours.
      4.   If the house number posted on the building is not readily identifiable from the roadway fronting the building, then the number shall be affixed to the building as well as posted by the roadway. If the building has multiple house numbers or apartment numbers (i.e., professional buildings, multi-family residences), a building directory shall be posted at the main entrance to the building.
      5.   The house numbers shall be placed as to not be obstructed by trees, shrubbery or other foliage, or any extension of the building.
   C.   Removing, Defacing Numbers: No person shall willfully deface or remove any number required by this section which has been placed upon any building. (TO-2022-1, 2-8-2022)
