4-2-2: LICENSE AND BOND REQUIRED:
Any person, firm or corporation wishing to engage in the business of plumbing in the city may, at any regular meeting of the city commission make application to be accompanied by a copy of certificate of examination of state license together with information as to the location of the place of business past and present. The license fee for plumbing shall be forty seven dollars ($47.00) per year or unexpired part thereof ending in all cases on December 31.
Prior to the issuance of said license the applicant shall file thereafter and keep on file in the office of the city clerk, and in full force and effect at all times, a surety bond executed by a surety company duly authorized to transact business in the state and running to the city, in the sum of five thousand dollars ($5,000.00), to be approved by the city commission, conditioned to the effect that such person, firm or corporation shall perform all work in connection with plumbing and fixtures and installations connected therewith in a skillful and workmanlike manner, using only suitable and proper materials, equipment and appliances and shall comply with all of the provisions of this code relating thereto and shall indemnify and save harmless the city and any person, firm or corporation, resident or property owner within the city against any and all loss or damage said city, person, firm, corporation, resident or property owner may suffer on account of any work performed in said business within said city when caused or resulting from any malfeasance or nonfeasance or negligence in connection with any of the activities or conditions upon which the license applied for is granted.
