2-5-1: BOARD CREATED:
There is hereby created and established a board of electrical examiners which shall be composed of the engineer and two (2) members who shall be practical electricians, one of whom shall be a master electrician engaged in an established electrical contracting business in the city, the other to be a journeyman electrician, both of whom shall carry a city individual certificate as provided for herein, and the building inspector of the city shall be an ex officio member of the board. The city manager shall name, and by and with consent of the city commission, appoint the board of examiners; provided, however, that any electrical board of examiners heretofore appointed under any ordinance repealed hereby shall act as the board of electrical examiners under the provisions of this chapter until the expiration of his term for which he was heretofore appointed. All board members other than city members shall be entitled to compensation for any meeting held for the purpose of examination of applicants at the rate of five dollars ($5.00) per meeting. The term of office of appointed members shall be for two (2) years, one for one year and one being for two (2) years at the time of the first appointment of members thereof, and thereafter one member shall be appointed each year as his term expires, this routine to be followed in regards to members that may now be acting under similar ordinances and who may be acting by reason thereof under this chapter. The board shall designate the time and place for examination of all applicants for individual wireman's certificates as herein provided for. The engineer shall serve as secretary of the board and keep all records of said board. (Ord. 898, 3-7-1949)
