The city is hereby divided into zoning districts as shown on the official zoning map which, together with all explanatory matter thereon, is hereby adopted by reference and declared to be a part of this title. (Ord. 1576, 5-1-1989, eff. 6-15-1989)
The official zoning map shall be identified by the signature of the mayor or city manager attested by the city clerk. It shall be dated and bear the words "The Official Zoning Map of the City of Lewistown, Montana". (Ord. 1576, 5-1-1989, eff. 6-15-1989; amd. Ord. 1663, 1-3-2000)
Changes made in district boundaries shall be promptly entered on the official zoning map after amendment by the city commission. Amendments to the official zoning map shall not become effective until adopted by the city commission. The assistant city engineer or designated official shall be responsible for depicting zoning changes on the official zoning map. (Ord. 1576, 5-1-1989, eff. 6-15-1989; amd. Ord. 1664, 1-3-2000)
Regardless of the existence of purported copies of the official zoning map which may from time to time be published, the official zoning map shall be placed in the city vault. Such map shall be the final authority as to the current zoning status of land inside the jurisdictional area. (Ord. 1576, 5-1-1989, eff. 6-15-1989)
No changes shall be made on the official zoning map or matter shown thereon except in conformity with the provisions set forth in chapter 13 of this title. In the event the official zoning map is damaged or destroyed, the city commission may adopt a new official zoning map by resolution.
