It shall be unlawful for any person to conduct or engage in directly or indirectly in any business, trade, profession, calling, occupation or other activity for which a city license is required without having a currently valid city license so to do; and it shall be unlawful for any person so licensed by the city to violate or fail to comply with any provision, term or condition of the license.
