(A) It shall be the duty of the Electrical Inspector to administer and enforce the provisions of this chapter. He or she shall, upon application, grant permits for the installation or alteration of electrical equipment, make inspections of electrical installations, and keep complete records of all permits issued, inspections and reinspections made and other official work performed, all in accordance with the provisions of this chapter. He or she shall also keep on file a list of inspected electrical equipment issued by or for Underwriters’ Laboratories, Inc., which list shall be accessible for the public reference during regular office hours.
(B) The Electrical Inspector is empowered to employ, after receiving the approval of the City Council, any assistant inspectors and clerical assistants necessary for the proper conduct of his or her office and the inspection of electrical installations as provided for in this chapter. The salaries of the assistants shall be determined by the City Council.
(C) The Electrical Inspector may delegate any of his or her powers or duties to any of his or her assistants.
