6-4-3: METHOD OF PARKING:
   A.   Parallel Parking: Parallel parking on any of the streets or portions of streets established by a resolution of the council as parallel parking zones, when a sign or pavement marking is in place indicating such parallel parking. It shall be unlawful for the operator of any vehicle to park said vehicle except:
      1.   A vehicle may be stopped or parked parallel to and within eighteen inches (18") from the right side of said vehicle to the curb facing in the direction of traffic movement.
      2.   Said vehicle shall be parked entirely within the limits of space allotted to park vehicles as the space is indicated on pavement markings. No vehicle shall park on the turning space designated by a white "X" on the pavement. (1975 Code §9-11.04)
   B.   Diagonal Parking: Diagonal parking on any of the streets or portions of streets established by resolution of the city council as diagonal parking zones, when signs or pavement markings are in place indicating such diagonal parking. It shall be unlawful for the operator of any vehicle to park the said vehicle except:
      1.   At the angle of the curb indicated by signs or pavement markings allotting space to park vehicles and entirely within the limits of said allotted space.
      2.   With the right front wheel nearest to the curb and within six inches (6") of said curb.
The provisions of this subsection shall not apply when such vehicle is actually engaged in the process of loading or unloading passengers, freight or goods, in which event the provisions applicable in section 6-4-7 of this chapter shall be complied with. (1975 Code §9-11.05)
   C.   Parking Within Markings: When parking space markings are placed on the highway, subject to other more restrictive limitations, no vehicle shall be stopped, left standing or parked other than within a single space, unless the size or shape of such vehicle makes compliance impossible 1 .
