1-6-3: CITY COUNCIL:
   A.   Meetings: Meetings of the city council shall be held on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at the council chambers, Lehi City Civic Center, 153 North 100 East, Lehi City, Utah, convening at seven o'clock (7:00) P.M., or such other time as designated by ordinance of the city council.
   B.   Special Meetings:
      1.   The mayor or any two (2) council members may order the convening of a special meeting of the city council. Each order convening a special meeting of the city council shall:
         a.   Be entered in the minutes of the city council; and
         b.   Provide at least three (3) hours' notice of the special meeting.
      2.   The city recorder shall serve notice of the special meeting on each council member who did not sign the order by delivering the notice personally or by leaving it at the member's usual place of abode.
      3.   The personal appearance by a council member at a special meeting of the city council constitutes a waiver of the notice required under subsection B2 of this section. (1984 Code § 2.08.020; amd. 2015 Code)
   C.   Holding Offices Created During Council Membership: No member of the city council shall hold or be appointed to any office which shall have been created, or the salary which shall have been increased while he was a member, during the term for which he was elected, and for one year after the expiration of such term.    D.   Powers: The city council shall control the finances and property of the corporation and shall pass all ordinances and rules, and make all regulations, not repugnant to law, necessary for carrying into effect or charging all powers and duties conferred by law and such as are necessary to provide for the safety, and preserve the health, and promote the prosperity, improve the morals, peace and good order, comfort and convenience of the city and the inhabitants thereof, and for the protection of property therein; and to enforce obedience to such ordinances with such fines or penalties as the city council may deem proper; provided, that the punishment of any offense shall comply with the authority granted by Utah Code Annotated section 10-3-703.
