The Police Division shall perform the following duties in providing police services to the city:
(A) Be responsible for the preservation of the public peace and order, the prevention and detection of crime, the apprehension of offenders of law and ordinances, the protection of persons and property and the enforcement of the criminal laws of the United States, the state and the ordinances of the city.
(B) Be responsible for making collections from all municipal parking meters and accounting therefor to the City Auditor.
