§ 915.14 RENEWABLE ENERGY PURCHASING PROGRAM.
   (A)   Definitions.
      (1)   RENEWABLE ENERGY. Electric energy generated from environmentally-friendly, renewable sources, including but not limited to, wind, hydroelectric, solar, biomass, and landfill gas.
      (2)   RENEWABLE ENERGY PURCHASING. The city's purchase and retirement of renewable energy certificates or REC(s) based upon an enrolled customer's participating percentage of metered electricity usage (measured in kWh) during a reporting period.
      (3)   RENEWABLE ENERGY PURCHASING PROGRAM. A program where customers may voluntarily enroll to have the city complete renewable energy purchasing on the customer's behalf, and to be assessed a charge therefor.
   (B)   Availability. Upon application, and based upon availability, customers in all rate classes may voluntarily enroll in a renewable energy purchasing program. A customer may select a participation percentage of 25%, 50%, 75% or 100% of their metered electricity usage to be subjected to the applicable charge. A customer can request a different percentage and if the city approves the requested percentage, the approved percentage of their metered electricity usage will be subject to the applicable charge.
   (C)   Applicable charge. The applicable charge for customers who are enrolled in the renewable energy purchasing program shall be the established rate set forth in the latest AMP renewable energy program. The 2022 AMP renewable energy program is named EcoSmart Choice and the applicable charge is $0.004 per kWh per month.
