All signs for which a permit is required, together with all their supports, braces, guys and anchors, shall be kept in repair in accordance with the provisions of this chapter, and when not galvanized or constructed of approved corrosion-resistant noncombustible materials, shall be painted when necessary to prevent corrosion.
