§ 30.41 ORDINANCE PASSAGE AND CODIFICATION PROCEDURE.
   (A)   All proposed ordinances will be submitted to the Clerk-Treasurer no later than 12:00 p.m. on the Tuesday prior to the Common Council meeting. Ordinances drafted by any individuals other than the City Attorney will also be submitted to the City Attorney by 12:00 p.m. of the Tuesday prior to the Common Council meeting. All ordinances will be numbered sequentially by the Clerk-Treasurer, in the following manner: "Number-year" (e.g.1-2002).
   (B)   All ordinances, whether adopted or rejected, shall be retained by the Clerk-Treasurer in an ordinance book, together with a form agreed upon by the parties denoting the date submitted, the date voted, the vote of the Common Council, and whether or not the ordinance was adopted, rejected or tabled.
   (C)   A copy of all signed ordinances will be given to the City Attorney no later than the next meeting of the Common Council following the date the ordinance was adopted.
   (D)   The Clerk-Treasurer shall be directed by the Common Council to make an annual supplement to the city ordinance book and to every four years prepare a recodification of all existing ordinances. The Common Council will create a line item in the budget and fund that item sufficiently to enable the Clerk-Treasurer to fulfill this obligation by the employment of an outside legal publication service.
   (E)   The Clerk-Treasurer shall be directed by the Common Council to place previously approved ordinances on microfiche.    (F)   A copy of all adopted ordinances will be delivered within 24 hours of adoption to the Mayor for his or her acceptance by signature for his or her action pursuant to I.C. 36-4-6-16.
   (G) Upon receipt of either the supplement to the ordinance book or the recodification of the ordinance book, the Clerk-Treasurer shall, within seven days of receipt, forward a copy of the supplement or reconstitute an ordinance book to each member of the Common Council, the Mayor, the Board of Works and the City Attorney.
