3-11-1: DEFINITIONS:
CITY: The city of LaVerkin and its officials, employees, and representatives; and shall commonly have reference to the city inspector and/or the director of operations.
DEPARTMENT: The Utah department of health.
DIRECTOR: The executive director of the Utah department of health.
PET: A domesticated companion animal that is not included in the definition of a service animal or support animal under federal or state law that allows access of the animal to hotel, motel, and resort facilities.
PET FRIENDLY: The designation of certain guestrooms or all guestrooms by an owner or operator to allow pets to stay in a guestroom with the guest.
TRANSIENT LODGING FACILITY OR TRANSIENT LODGING FACILITIES (Also Known Herein By The Phrase HOTEL, MOTEL OR RESORT): Facilities providing transient lodging for a fee, where and to the extent permitted (including those grandfathered under prior law), and includes, but is not limited to, hotels, motels, motor hotels, inns, lodges, bed and breakfast establishments, condominiums constituting standard lodging units under section 3-8-1 of this title, resorts, resort camps, tourist courts, hostels, dormitories and similar facilities; and shall mean every building, or structure, with all buildings and facilities in connection therewith, kept, used, maintained as, advertised as, or held out to the public to be, a place where living accommodations are furnished to transient guests or to groups normally occupying such facilities on a seasonal or short term basis.
UNITS: Accommodations, within or part of a transient lodging facility, that serve one or more persons (regardless of the type or name of the transient lodging facility).
WASTEWATER: Discharges from all plumbing facilities such as restrooms, kitchen, and laundry fixtures, either separately or in combination. (Ord. 2013-09, 7-17-2013; amd. Ord. 2022-10, 9-21-2022)
