§ 33.02  AMENDED HIRING PROCEDURES.
   Hiring procedures within the City of LaSalle Police Department and Fire Department are hereby amended to provide that in the event that a member of the Police Department and/or the Fire Department who has separated in service from the Police Department and/or Fire Department within 12 months of any request and/or application for rehire, then in the event of any such request and/or application for rehire within said 12-month period, the Board of Police and Fire Commissioners, subject to the approval of the LaSalle City Council, shall have the authority and may within the exercise of its appropriate discretion, to rehire said Police Officer and/or member of the Fire Department without said applicant being either retested as if a totally new member or being placed on a hiring list, provided that the applicant has satisfactorily passed a background check and a physical, and further complied with such other requirements as the Board of Police and Fire Commissioners deems appropriate in the circumstances; also subject to satisfying the requirements of any applicable Union Agreement.
