§ 31.128  FIRE SERVICE BEYOND TOWN LIMITS.
   (A)   Pursuant to the provisions of G.S. § 69-19, the Chief of the Fire Department is hereby designated as the person who shall have authority to dispatch personnel and equipment to respond to calls beyond the area covered by the town. The two alternates, in the absence or disability of the Chief, shall be, in order of seniority, the two members of the Department next in rank below the Chief.

   (B)   No fire-fighting service shall be rendered beyond the town limits, except in the following cases:
      (1)   To protect property within the town threatened by fire outside the town;
      (2)   To protect town-owned or leased property outside the town;
      (3)   To go to the aid of another municipality threatened with disaster, when requested to do so by a duly authorized officer of the municipality;
      (4)   To protect property in area beyond town limits as authorized by the Town Board; and/or
      (5)   To protect schools, churches,  hospitals, publicly-owned buildings or charitable institutions upon request of properly authorized persons.
