There is hereby adopted by reference, except as provided in this Chapter, that certain Green Building Standards Code known and designated as the Los Angeles County Green Building Standards Code, Title 31 of the Los Angeles County Code, including all appendices, as adopted by the County of Los Angeles and in effect on January 1, 2023, incorporating the 2022 California Green Building Standards Code, including all changes made by the County of Los Angeles, and such Code shall be and become the Green Building Standards Code of the City of La Mirada, regulating and controlling the design and construction of buildings through the use of building concepts having a reduced negative impact, or positive environmental impact, and encouraging sustainable construction practices.
