"Centerline" means a line established by the engineer and designated as "centerline," "proposed centerline," "adopted centerline," or "construction centerline" on a series of maps filed in the office of the engineer. Where two or more such designations are shown on any map in the series, the line labeled "adopted centerline" is deemed to be the official centerline.
