Notwithstanding any other provision of this chapter, it is unlawful for any person or permittee to sell, give away, or otherwise provide any fireworks within the city, except those authorized for sale by resolution of the city council. For the purposes of this section, the resolution governing the sale refers to that resolution in effect on June 24 of each year authorizing the sale of specified types of fireworks.
