As used in this chapter, a "garage sale" means the sale or offering for sale of used goods or other personal property held at a private residence by the occupants and is limited to the sale of common household goods such as clothing, interior furnishings, small appliances, toys and other similar items where such goods are personal property and are set out for the public display in any open garage, yard or patio of such private residence. "Garage sale" also means and includes estate sales arising from the death of an occupant of the property.
