6-5-1: DEFINITIONS:
The following terms, phrases, words and their derivations are hereby defined as follows:
ALARM HOLDER: The owner or lessee of an "alarm system" within or on premises.
ALARM SYSTEM: Any alarm which alerts, notifies, or otherwise communicates to or with any person or equipment located outside of or off site from the premises is an alarm system.
FALSE ALARM: An alarm, to which the Lake Villa police department has responded, is false unless:
   A.   There is evidence of an actual or obvious attempted intrusion, or
   B.   There is evidence of an electrical utility outage or condition affecting a general neighborhood.
SERVICE CHARGE: An assessment by the village against an alarm holder for false alarms emanating from the alarm system as provided in this chapter.
VILLAGE: The village of Lake Villa. (Ord. 2003-02-02, 2-26-2003)
