6-3-2: PROHIBITED OR RESTRICTED ACTIONS:
   A.   Cruelty: No person shall cruelly treat any animal in the village in any way; any person who inhumanely beats, underfeeds, overloads, or abandons any animal shall be deemed guilty of a violation of this subsection.
   B.   Dangerous Animals: It shall be unlawful to permit any dangerous animal or vicious animal of any kind to run at large within the village.
   C.   Disturbing The Peace: No person owning any dog shall suffer or permit such dog to disturb the peace and quiet of the neighborhood by barking, making other loud or unusual noises, or by running through or across cultivated gardens, lawns, or fields. It shall be unlawful to harbor or keep any animals which disturb the peace by loud noises at any time of the day or night.
   D.   Strays: It shall be unlawful to permit any cattle, horse, swine, sheep, goats, or poultry to run at large in the village; any such animal running at large in any public place in the village shall be impounded in the manner provided in this chapter.
   E.   Animal Waste; Removal: No person having custody or control of a dog, cat, or any other animal shall permit said animal to defecate on any school grounds, public street, alley, sidewalk, park or any other public property unless said defecation is immediately removed. No person having custody or control of a dog, cat, or any other animal shall permit said animal to defecate on any private property other than the premises of the person who has custody or control of the dog, cat, or animal. For purposes of this chapter, someone who regularly (i.e., more than once in any calendar week) feeds a stray dog, cat, or other stray animal shall be considered to have custody or control of such animal.
   F.   Running At Large: No dog shall be permitted to run at large in the village. This section does not apply to any dog on its owner's premises while attended by and in the charge of a responsible person.
   G.   Nuisances: Any dog found in the village either without a license or running at large under the conditions set forth above is hereby declared to be a nuisance and shall be impounded. (Ord. 2010-08-01, 8-11-2010)
