5-1-7: HANDBILLS ON PUBLIC WAYS:
   A.   Distribution Prohibited: It shall be unlawful for any person to distribute advertising matter of any kind on any public way or other public place of the village, or to distribute, hand out or scatter on any public way any handbills or dodgers or any other loose sheets of advertising matter which would litter the public ways if allowed to drop thereon.
   B.   Posting Prohibited: No person shall post, stick, stamp, tack, paint or otherwise fix, or cause the same to be done by any person, any notice, placard, bill, card, poster, advertisement, or other device calculated to attract the attention of the public, to or upon any sidewalk, crosswalk, curb or curbstone, flagstone or any other portion or part of any public way, lamppost, electric light, telephone, telegraph or other pole, hydrant, shade tree or tree trunk, or on any public bridge or viaduct, except such as may be required by the laws of the United States, the state or the village.
   C.   Penalty: Any person violating any of the provisions of this section shall be fined not less than ten dollars ($10.00) nor more than five hundred dollars ($500.00) for each offense. (Ord. 78-5-3, 5-24-1978)
