The Village Administrator shall be the Coordinator of the Village ESDA and shall serve as such Coordinator until and unless a different Coordinator is appointed by the Mayor. The Coordinator shall have direct responsibility for the organization, administration, training and operation of the Village's ESDA, subject to the direction and control of the Mayor as provided by Statute, including but not limited to the coordination of damage assessments within the Village. In the event of the absence, resignation, death or inability to serve as the Coordinator, the Mayor or any person designated by him or her, shall be and act as Coordinator until a new Coordinator is appointed by the Mayor as provided in this Chapter. The Director of Public Works and the Chief of Police shall each serve as an Assistant ESDA Coordinator and shall perform such duties as specified in the Emergency Operations Plan, and/or as assigned by the ESDA Coordinator.
