§ 31.004  TOWN SECRETARY AND TOWN TREASURER.
   (A)   There is hereby created for the Town of Lakeside the Office of Town Secretary and Town Treasurer, who shall be a knowledgeable person recommended by the Mayor and approved by the City Council.
   (B)   The Town Secretary and the Town Treasurer shall receive a salary to be set by the City Council.  The Town Secretary and Town Treasurer shall not be removed from office during the term for which the person is appointed except for good cause.
   (C)   The term of Office for the Town Secretary and Town Treasurer is two years and shall run concurrent with the office of Mayor.  The first appointed Town Secretary and Town Treasurer shall serve until the next mayoral election, at which time the office shall become vacant.
   (D)   Any vacancy in the office of Town Treasurer or Town Secretary by death, resignation, or otherwise, shall be filled in the same manner as the original appointments.
   (E)   The City Council shall have the power to combine the Office of Town Secretary-Treasurer and the person shall be appointed as prescribed in division (A) above.
   (F)   The Town Secretary and Town Treasurer shall exercise all powers and duties in his or her function as the Town Secretary or Town Treasurer as is provided by ordinance and by the laws of Texas governing those offices.
