§ 9 DEFINITION.
   For the purpose of §§ 8 and 10, the following definition shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
   SPACE. An open, hard-surfaced area, other than a street or public way, the principal use of which is for standing, loading, and unloading of motor trucks, tractors, and trailers. Such space shall not be less than 12 feet in width, 55 feet in length, exclusive of access aisles and maneuvering space. Each off-street loading space shall be directly accessible from a street or alley without crossing or entering any other required off-street parking or loading space. Such loading space shall be accessible from the interior of the building it serves and shall be arranged for convenient and safe ingress tractor-trailer anticipated to use the facility. Loading zones re spaces and their maneuvering areas shall be so designated and located as to permit trucks to enter and leave any public right-of-way in a forward manner. Under no circumstances shall a vehicle extend into or onto a public right-of-way while loading or unloading.
   (A)   Exception. Building of less than 5,000 quare feet gross floor area have one loading space of less than 12 feet in width and 20 feet in length.
