§ 51.032 RESPONSIBILITY OF CITY.
In the installation of plumbing and heating equipment by a consumer, ample provision shall be made (by providing proper supply tanks, checks, relief or vacuum valves) for the safety of such equipment, in the event of the stopping of the water supply or pressure and to prevent the contamination of household water supply, or damage to water meters by expansion from heating apparatus. The city shall not be liable for any damage that may result to any plumbing or heating equipment from stopping of the water or pressure on account of the shutting off the water supply to the premises, or the loss of pressure in the mains through any cause beyond its control, or for purposes made necessary in connection with the maintenance and operation of the water works system.
