(A) There is hereby created a Senior Resources Commission.
(B) The Commission shall consist of seven members, including the Chairperson.
(1) The Mayor, with the advice and consent of the City Council, shall appoint seven Commissioners with terms of office being two years.
(2) (a) At the expiration of the term of each Commissioner or of each succeeding Commissioner, or in the event of a vacancy, the
Mayor, with the approval of the City Council, shall appoint a Commissioner to hold the office for the unexpired term, or in the case of expiration, for a term of two years, or until the Commissioner’s successor shall have been appointed and qualified.
(b) No Commissioner may serve for more than six consecutive years, except those Commissioners first appointed to initial terms to fill a vacancy and may serve for three full two-year terms following such initial appointments.
(3) (a) Members of the Senior Resources Commission shall be representatives from the city and the Village of Lake Bluff.
(b) At least two and no more than three members shall represent the Village of Lake Bluff and the remaining shall represent the city.
(c) No members shall receive compensation.
(4) The Chairperson of the Senior Resources Commission shall be designated by the Mayor, with the approval of the City Council.
