The operator of a motorcycle and every passenger thereon shall be protected by glasses, goggles or a transparent shield. The Department of Transportation shall determine the standards for this equipment. These standards shall establish requirements based upon those set forth in Vehicle Equipment Safety Commission Regulation VESC-8, Minimum Requirements for Motorcyclists’ Eye Protection.
