(A) Trenches shall be left open until the completed work has been inspected and approved by a representative of the Office of the Director of Community Development. Trenches shall not be left open for more than 48 hours after excavation. If the job conditions require an open excavation for a period exceeding 48 hours, the Director of Community Development may, at his or her discretion, allow the excavation to remain open with day to day approval, provided that when the trench is unattended, it will be barricaded and completely covered with plywood, or other suitable materials, and lighted with torches or flares during the hours of 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
(B) All plumbing and sewer work shall be subject to inspection by the Department of Community Development.
(1) Corrections. Corrections of all faulty or defective work shall be made within 72 hours.
(2) Delay in work. Unreasonable delay in the performance of any plumbing or drainage work shall be deemed sufficient cause for the cancellation of any permit which may have been issued for such work.
(C) (1) A water test of the entire plumbing system within a building shall be conducted by the plumbing contractor or a licensed plumber in the presence of the Plumbing Inspector. All plumbing work shall remain exposed until the water test has been completed and the work approved by the Inspector.
(2) After inspection and approval, all drain, waste and water lines shall be capped or plugged with manufactured fittings designed for the purpose and shall remain in place until the fixtures are installed by the plumbing contractor.
