Sign(s) on awnings(s) may be permitted, provided however, that the size of letters on such awnings shall not exceed five inches in height and shall be placed on the descending skirt only. Awnings shall be constructed and erected so that the lowest portion of the projecting frame shall not be less than seven feet six inches, and the lowest portion of the descending skirt shall not be less than six feet eight inches, above the level of the sidewalk or public thoroughfare. Awnings with signs shall be considered in lieu of a wall or window sign and shall be considered a part of the 5% or 25 square foot calculation and deducted from the total.
