§ 150.443 HEATERS.
   Pool boilers shall comply with all applicable American Standard approved requirements, including ASME Standards.
   (A)   Propane tanks shall be installed in accord with the most current edition of NFPA Pamphlet #58, Liquified Petroleum Gases.
   (B)   Gas fired boiler installations shall comply with the BOCA National Mechanical Code/1990 Edition and be AGA listed.
   (C)   Oil fired boiler installations shall comply with the BOCA National Mechanical Code/1990 Edition, and the manufacturer’s installation specifications.
   (D)   Electric boiler installation shall comply with the city electrical requirements herein and the National Electric Code.
   (E)   Solar boilers and heaters installation shall be designed by a registered architect or engineer.
   (F)   Solar panels, propane tanks, cabanas, fences and/or equipment or structures may be subject to review pursuant to § 150.147(B) of the Building Code which states, “Architectural Design: The City Council hereby finds that excessive similarity, dissimilarity or inappropriateness in exterior design and appearance of buildings, awnings, signs, fences and other structures, in relation to the prevailing appearance of property in the vicinity thereof adversely affects the desirability of immediate and neighboring areas and impairs the benefits of occupancy of existing property in such areas, impairs the stability and taxable value of land and buildings in such areas, prevents the most appropriate use of real estate and the most appropriate development of such areas, produces degeneration of property in such areas with attendant deterioration conditions affecting the public health, safety, comfort, morals and well being of the citizens thereof, deprives the city of tax revenue which it otherwise could receive and destroys a proper balance in relationship between the taxable value of real property in such areas and the cost of the municipal services provided therefor.”
