(A) Structural design.
(1) STRUCTURAL DESIGN is that portion of the pool structure below grade which shall be engineered and designed to withstand the expected forces to which it may be subjected and shall be constructed of reinforced concrete.
(2) Inground pools constructed of materials other than reinforced concrete shall be subject to review by the Construction Codes Commission pursuant to § 150.152(B).
(B) Wall slopes. Wall slopes shall be constructed not to exceed more than one foot horizontal in five feet vertical.
(C) Floor slopes.
(1) The slope of the floor on the shallow side of transition point shall not exceed one foot vertical to seven feet horizontal.
(2) The transition point between shallow and deep water shall not be more than five feet deep.
(D) Diving pools.
(1) When a pool is intended to be equipped with a diving board, the wall and floor slopes and other physical configurations of the diving bowl shall conform to the recommended design of the National Spa and Pool Institute.
(2) See Graphics A and B below for minimum water surface shape.
(E) Swimming pool decks.
(1) A swimming pool deck or walk not less than four feet wide shall be required for 66% of the pool perimeter.
(2) Where a deck is not provided, safety rope, gutter or handhold shall be constructed not more than two inches below the normal operating level of the water.
