§ 32.051 APPOINTMENT AND TERM OF MEMBERS; VACANCIES.
   The members of the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners shall be appointed by the Mayor of the city with the consent of the City Council. The terms of office of the members shall be three years, with one member’s term expiring annually; provided, however, that each member shall serve until such member’s successor shall be appointed and qualified; provided further that no appointment shall be made by the Mayor within 30 days before the expiration of the Mayor’s term of office. Vacancies arising from death, resignation, removal or otherwise shall be filled in the same manner as an original appointment for the balance of the term being filled.
