(A) No person, firm or corporation shall install, alter or repair any electrical equipment as defined hereinbefore, without first obtaining a permit for each such installation, alteration or repair. Permits for the installation, alteration and repair of electrical equipment shall be issued to a registered electrical contractor upon receipt of an application therefor made out on a form to be furnished by the electrical inspection division, and upon the payment of the fee in advance, as hereinafter provided.
(B) Permits shall not be required for replacement or repair of minor equipment such as switches or convenience receptacles in existing openings not involving any replacement of circuit wiring.
