(A) (1) All buildings shall be of two-hour noncombustible protected construction. The following table shall govern the construction, alteration and repair of all buildings.
(2) Exception: that area that lies north of Kennedy Road (Route 60) and immediately east of the Tri-State Tollway zoned O-R and commonly known as Conway Park. The codes utilized for this area shall be as specified in the annexation agreement between Conway Park and the city.

(B) The Fire Prevention Code, 2000 Edition, National Fire Protection Association, Inc. and the National Fire Protection Act I, 2000 Edition, National Fire Protection Association, Inc. shall be used to determine exiting and fire protection regulations for various occupancies.
(C) At the exterior of every grade floor exitway a hard surfaced area shall be provided. The minimum width of this area shall be equal to the width of the egress door and shall extend away from the building a distance equal to the width of the egress door. The level of this surface shall be at or no more than two inches below the floor inside the door. In no case shall it be elevated above the interior floor level.
(D) Where applicable, the state accessibility standards shall take precedence.
(E) (1) Every multi-story, multi-family residential building shall be served by an elevator.
(2) The elevator shall have a 2,500 pound capacity with a minimum car size of four feet three inches by six feet eight inches, with three feet six inch side opening access.
(F) All commercial buildings required by the accessibility standards to provide vertical accessibility via an elevator, shall use the car size specified in division (E)(2) above. Further, all hardware, controls and amenities shall comply with accessibility standards.
(G) A shunt switch electrical service disconnect shall be provided on all commercial structures. Location shall be as determined by the Director of Community Development or his or her designee.
(H) A knox box shall be provided for every commercial structure. The location shall be as determined by the Director of Community Development or his or her designee.
