§ 150.172 SOUND AND FIRE BARRIER BETWEEN LIVING UNITS.
   In duplex dwellings a vertical or horizontal division between living units shall be accomplished to create a fire resistance not less than two hours and a sound transmission of Class 50. A vertical division shall extend from the lowest level of the building to the roof and a horizontal division shall extend to all outside walls.
