§ 150.005 STOPPAGE OF WORK; STOP ORDER.
   The Director of Community Development or his or her designee, shall have the power to order stoppage of all work of construction, alteration, repair or the use of buildings, structures or premises in the city and the installation of equipment therein, including the delivery of materials thereto, when such work, use or installation is in violation of any provision of any ordinances relating thereto, or where there is a violation of the zoning ordinance. The work, use or installation shall not be resumed after the issuance of such a stop order, except on written permission of the Director of Community Development, or by order of the City Manager, or the Mayor, provided that, if the stop order is an oral one, it shall be followed by a written stop order within 24 hours thereafter. Such written stop order may be served by any officer, employee or police officer of the city.
