8-1A-2: PERMITS:
A.   Water Use:
1.   Required: No person except a regularly appointed agent of the village shall take water from any hydrant, plug, hose, pipe or fountain, except for use in case of fire or emergency, or shall in any way use or take any water for private use, drinking at public fountains excepted, unless such person has first paid the village for the same and received a permit from the village. (1988 Code § 5-1A-2-1)
2.   Fee: The fee for a water permit shall be as set out in section 1-12-3 of this code, under the category "construction/building fees". No person except one duly authorized by the director of public works shall be permitted under any circumstances to tap the village street main or insert stopcocks or connections therein. The village authorities shall tap the street main and furnish the corporation cock, curb cock, curb box and meter. The charge for said tapping performed, and materials furnished by the village, shall be as set out in section 1-12-3 of this code, under the category "construction/building fees". B.   Water Connection: Any person owning or occupying premises adjacent to the water distribution system of the village and desiring water service shall sign an application for such service in the form prescribed by the village, and no connection shall be made with the water system of the village without a permit having first been issued therefor by the village. No permits shall be issued for the installation, repair or connection to water pipes unless the person applying therefor shall be a duly bonded and licensed plumber. (1988 Code § 5-1A-2-2)
