3-9-2: CERTIFICATE REQUIREMENTS:
A.   Certificate Required: No building, or addition thereto, and no addition or alteration to a previously existing building shall be occupied or used and no land vacant on the effective date hereof shall be used for any purpose until and unless a business occupancy certificate has been issued therefor by the village. This certificate shall be in addition to the occupancy permit specified in title 10 of this code and shall be made on forms furnished by the village. (Ord. 89-17, 3-20-1989)
B.   Fee: At the time of application, a fee in the amount as set out in section 1-12-3 of this code, under the category "license fees", shall be due and payable. (Ord. 89-17, 3-20-1989; amd. 2009 Code)
C.   Contents Of Certificate; Posting Required: Each business occupancy certificate shall state the purpose for which the property is occupied and shall be permanently posted at all times in a prominent place on the premises.
D.   Responsibility Of Owner And Occupant: It shall be the duty and responsibility of the occupant of any premises regulated hereby to secure a business occupancy certificate, and it shall be the dual responsibility of the owner of any premises regulated hereby to ensure that all of his tenants have a valid business occupancy certificate for premises owned by the owner.
