4-2-3: FALSE ALARMS:
   A.   Service Charge: The first three (3) false alarms to the same alarm holder in any calendar year shall be without charge. A service charge as specified from time to time in section 1-10-7 of this code, which shall be the base service charge, shall be billed to the alarm holder for the fourth through sixth false alarms in any calendar year and such service charge shall increase by an additional amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the base service charge for each false alarm after the sixth false alarm in any calendar year.
   B.   Payment Of Charges: Payment of such charges shall be made to the village within fifteen (15) days after the notice of each such charge is sent to the alarm owners. Should a test alarm be transmitted by a piece of electronic equipment then under service by an alarm company, there shall be no charge provided the alarm holder gives the village proof that the defect is being corrected.
   C.   Failure To Pay; Filing Of Action: Failure or refusal of any alarm holder to pay the service charge for false alarms may result in an action being filed by the village against such alarm holder who is in violation of this chapter. If such an action is deemed necessary by the village, the village shall have the right to pursue all legal and equitable remedies against the alarm holder.
   D.   Grace Period: A thirty (30) day grace period for new alarm systems or for major modification or additions to existing alarm systems may be granted upon application to and approval in advance by the village. (Ord. 2008-O-05, 2-5-2008)
